Rethinking Passenger Information for Tomorrow’s Mobility

The IdeenzugUrban reimagines the future of urban mobility by combining advanced technology, multifunctional space concepts, and sustainable design to elevate the passenger experience. As part of this initiative, we contributed to shaping a forward-looking interior vision that responds to the evolving demands of metropolitan transit.

Challenge

With rising ridership and increasing expectations for comfort, clarity, and accessibility, the S-Bahn Hamburg sought a passenger information system that seamlessly supports diverse travel scenarios. The goal was to deliver intuitive guidance and relevant information within a complex, highly dynamic mobility environment.

Vision

We aimed to create an information experience that empowers passengers—clear, anticipatory, and seamlessly integrated into the spatial and digital fabric of the IdeenzugUrban. Our approach focused on aligning functionality, emotional comfort, and technological innovation to support smoother, smarter journeys.

Our Role

In a collaborative workshop with DB and S-Bahn Hamburg, we mapped passenger needs along different customer journeys and translated these insights into actionable wireframes. These wireframes formed the foundation for the subsequent refinement and implementation by neomind.

Result

The resulting concept delivers a coherent, user-centered information system that enhances orientation, accessibility, and overall travel comfort. It contributes to a mobility experience that reflects the IdeenzugUrban’s core ambition: making public transport more intuitive, attractive, and future-ready.
