Designing DB Regio’s IAA Mobility Experience

About the Project

As part of the Initiative Zukunft Nahverkehr showcase at the IAA Mobility in Munich, DB Regio decided to design and host its own exhibition container. The goal was to present the latest innovations from both DB Regio and the wider DB Group to industry professionals as well as the general public.

Challenge

Within a very limited space, it was crucial to make a wide range of topics tangible and engaging— without allowing any single exhibit to visually recede into the background. At the same time, the overarching theme of Integrated Mobility had to take center stage. The challenge lay in creating a space that allowed each project to shine while still forming a cohesive overall experience.

Vision

The guiding idea was to design an environment that unites diverse content into a coherent spatial narrative. At its core stands the DB AI “Kiana”, positioned within a circular floor graphic that invites visitors to move through and explore the space. 

For the key topic of Integrated Mobility, a dedicated interactive exhibit was developed, allowing visitors to experience the subject hands-on and gain a clearer understanding of various measures within the urban environment.

Our Role

We were responsible for the concept development of both the interior space and the “Integrated Mobility” exhibit. In addition, we oversaw the design process and accompanied the project through implementation and on-site supervision during the event.
